Facebook requires a one-time cookies setup

Facebook blocks anonymous downloads. Vidownloader has a built-in 60-second flow to import your browser cookies once — after that, every Facebook link works without further steps. See the walkthrough →

About this integration

Facebook restricts much of its content behind a login wall, but most public Pages and Reels work without authentication. Vidownloader supports facebook.com URLs as well as fb.watch shortlinks.

For videos from private profiles, members-only Groups, or paid Watch content, paste Facebook cookies into the Cookies modal — same flow as Instagram, since they share Meta's auth infrastructure.

What you can do

  • Public Pages, Reels, and Watch videos
  • fb.watch shortlinks resolve correctly
  • MP3 audio extraction
  • Cookies-aware for private content
  • Live video replays (when archived)

How to download from Facebook

  1. 1

    Copy a Facebook link

Open the Facebook app or website, find the post you want to save, and copy its URL. Example pattern: https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=....

  2. 2

Paste it into the input above

Vidownloader detects the platform automatically and shows you a preview of what will be downloaded.

  3. 3

    Set up cookies (one time)

Facebook requires a logged-in session. Click Cookies in the top-right, follow the 60-second walkthrough, and you're done — future Facebook links work without further setup.

  4. 4

    Pick a format and download

Choose MP4 for video, MP3 for audio. The file streams to your browser when ready.

Popular use cases

  • Save a Reel from a friend's wall
  • Download a public Page's promotional video
  • Archive a Live video replay before it disappears
  • Pull audio from a press conference broadcast
  • Mirror a Group video before leaving the Group

Facebook FAQ

Do I always need cookies for Facebook?

No — public Pages and Reels work anonymously. Cookies are only needed for private profiles, Groups, and paywalled Watch content.

Are Facebook and Instagram cookies the same?

No, they're separate — each platform has its own session. You'd export cookies from facebook.com to download Facebook content.
