YouTube runs anonymously in Vidownloader. Public videos usually work without cookies; private, members-only, or account-verification-gated videos are not supported.

What's the maximum YouTube quality?

Whatever the source provides — 4K, 8K, or HDR if YouTube has it. Vidownloader picks the highest-resolution MP4 with merged audio by default.

Can I download age-restricted YouTube videos?

No. Vidownloader keeps YouTube downloads anonymous and does not use YouTube cookies or logged-in sessions.

Does it work for YouTube Shorts?

Yes — Shorts are downloaded as MP4 the same way regular videos are. Vertical aspect ratio is preserved.

Can I download YouTube playlists?

Not via the UI yet — each playlist URL currently returns the playlist's first video. You can paste individual video URLs from the playlist instead. Playlist support is on the roadmap.
